Directly Controlling Devices

By using the controls on the Panel Tabset, you can send commands to a device directly. The function specified by the control is carried out immediately. For example, on the Gradient Pumps control panel shown below, clicking the pump Motor switch starts or stops pump flow. Direct control is often used when creating a new chromatographic program or during system setup or maintenance.

 Note:

If a Program is running when you issue a direct control command, a message warns you that you will abort the batch if you continue. However, if the AS Autosampler is currently running an overlapped sample, the direct control command is ignored.
